Baby Massage
Debra Jonckers is a trained baby massage practitioner, registered through the International Association of Infant Massage. In her courses, participants learn a combination of Swedish and Indian massage techniques along with reflexology and yoga.
The course is 6 weeks long. Over the first 4 weeks you learn to give your baby a full body massage and on the 5th week you learn a quick massage technique. The 5th session also includes an introduction to baby yoga and gentle movement. During each session the first hour focuses on the massage and we also include some nursery rhymes and children’s songs (don’t worry about your singing voice, Debra’s - is terrible!). The second hour provides an opportunity, over a cup of tea or coffee, to discuss various post natal issues such as weaning your baby on to solids, returning to work and much more! The final session is a chance for the dad's to come along and learn how to do the massage (the guys are actually very good at it.).
Course fee is £60 for those booked on a birthmatters antenatal course.
